If you sold a 1,000 tickets thats only $50.00..Seems like a lot of work for $50.00

My wife recieved an e-mail that has the Yahoo page and instructions for claiming the winning prize. Problem is, the money is supposedly being held by some bank in Africa. In the e-mail we were asked to contact a craigmartains1968@hotmail.com with our info. He asked us to contact another person in africa affiliated with an urban lottery commision.Is Yahoo conducting this lottery or is this a scam?

It’s a total scam. 100%.

Why would an American corporation operate a lottery out of Africa? Why would they use a hotmail address? Why would they give away millions of dollars to random people for no reason?

Yahoo! do not now, and never have had a lottery. There is no urban lottery commission in Africa. Africa is for the most part insanely poor, and certainly isn’t the epicenter for massive multi-million dollar lotteries that hand out money from rich corporations to random strangers for no reason.

The whole concept is absurd, and nothing more than a scam designed to steal your identity.
